The Grosse Pointe Library Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Grosse Pointe Public Library.
Through the generous support of individual donations, charitable trusts, and community partnerships the Grosse Pointe Library Foundation provides vital funding to the library to support the extra programs and resources that make our library system great!
We are governed by a volunteer board composed of committed individuals with diverse personal, academic, and professional backgrounds who share a passion for our library and an abiding love for the Grosse Pointe community. The Foundation employs an Executive Director and Coordinator, and is overseen by the Library Board of Trustees. Because of our donors we are able to support the library through the Annual Fund and the sponsorship of many events throughout the year including Books on the Lake, the children’s Summer Reading Program, the Senior Symposium program series for adults, and much more!
This summer we are pleased to present The Breuer Series: programs for adults and kids that celebrate the Central Library’s significance to the modern art and architecture movement. The series leads up to the Breuer Gala on September 20, a fundraiser to restore and preserve the $1.5 million worth of modern art housed at the Central Library. We are working hard on a wonderful, interactive website and we hope you’ll check back soon to see our progress. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please call the Foundation office at 313.640.4683. We will be happy to hear from you!
